Hi
I and my wife on ILR visa category and we are blessed with baby boy.
I am applying for my son passport but not able to understand fully requirement of countersignatory for child passport application.

Do we need 1 or 2 counter signatory for child? If only 1 is required than what is the criteria for selection of countersignatory ?
Can it be a british national friend or need to be professional person who knows me more than 2 years?

Please help.

Thanks
Mitul

Passports only require 1 counter signatory. It is 2 for registration on MN1 but this is not applicable to you if your baby was born after you obtained ILR.

Page 10 of the guidance notes explains the requirement.

Page 10 of the guide is clear on the requirements. If new born baby, they don't appear to be as strict.
