British Citizenship - Your mother's full name & maiden name

Hello everyone,

I will be applying for British Citizenship soon and I am going through the application form and I have the following questions.

In the application I must provide details for the following section "Section 1: Personal Information", page 5:

Subsection 1.27, page 4:
"1.27 Your mother's full name & maiden name"

A bit of background information:
I am from Bulgaria, and here names work like this.

If my mum's full name before getting married was named "Ivanka Petrova Petrova", this would mean:

First name: Ivanka
Middle anme: Petrova
Family name: Petrova

(Coincidence that her middle name and family name are the same.)

When the woman gets married here, she takes her husbands family name, so my mum's name changed to - "Ivanka Petrova Stankova", which is her current full name.

Question 1: How should enter her name for subsection 1.27, in what format?

The Application Form AN, Guide AN and Booklet AN can be found here:

I apologise for being so thorough, it's a very expensive application and I really want to get it right the first time.

Thanks,

You should enter " Ivanka Petrova Petrova" as this is as the name she known as officially.

Thank you so much for your reply @milan69!

I see, so basically by "full name & maiden name" they mean give your mothers "full maiden name".

This makes a bit more sense now.
