forgot payment slip, letter from home office

I sent off my naturalization application on 14/02 by special delivery, arrived on 16/02.
I have received an acknowledgement letter on 25/02 (dated 18/02) saying they have received my application and stating documents submitted etc. The letter also stated that I did not include a payment slip.
I know I did fill one out and I am 99% sure I posted it as I don't have it at home and I have a photocopy of it.
I filled out the new payment slip provided and posted it back the next day by special delivery. It arrived 27/02.
Will the home office confirm they have received this? The letter they sent me stated it had to be received within 14 days of their letter or else they would send everything back and I would have to start over.
It has only been 2.5 working days since receipt but tomorrow will be the 14 days since the original letter and no money has come off my credit card as of yet.
Just don't want them to cancel my application!

It is unlikely they will confirm receipt of it. Possible that you will see the debit on your account first.

thanks for quick response.
I will just check the bank account every day.
Straight forward application so I hope it is quick!

Why didn't you use NCS if I may ask?

NCS very unhelpful when I called re my missing LIUK test, told me home office could not have possibly kept the original copy etc.
I found this very strange as I had come across people online with similar problems so I rang the home office helpline.
When I explained to the woman on the phone I didn't have a copy she interrupted me to say it was because the home office had kept it!
My local council would not allow me to book an appointment for NCS without the life in the UK test.
I applied for ILR in person at the croydon office in 2012. After my appointment I put the file into my filing cabinet, exactly as I had received it back at my appointment and didn't look at it until I got it out a few weeks ago to start the naturalization process, the only thing missing was the LIUK test.

Just wanted to add that I have passed the life in the UK test as I used it to apply for ILR.
I did tick the box on the application form but left the pass number blank and wrote in the notes on page 15 that it had already been submitted when I applied for ILR. This was on the advice of the woman I spoke to when I rang the home office.

Unfortunate as it is not really required if used for ILR and relevant box just needed to be ticked and HO could have checked themselves. You would ideally have needed to include the Pass number, which is probably why NCS wouldn't assist. They could have contacted HO at the time if you had used them as they have a direct line to HO for queries when dealing with an applicant. Or you perhaps another NCS would have been more helpful.
For myself personally, I still have the original LIUK after ILR (asked for it back) and citizenship (used NCS), but maybe I was just lucky.

Yes I did ask if they could find out the number for me but I was told NO. The woman at the council suggested I go back to the test centre and ask for a copy!
I am not worried about how long my documents are kept as I have no travel booked in the near future.

Another quick question;
I am going to call my CC provider to let them know that £906 will be charged, does it reference that it is the Home Office?

Yes, it will reference Home Office or Nationality Directorate.
