Would the BC certificate ever expire?

Hi,
I've been approved BC last Sep and got the BC certificate so the next step is to apply my first British passport.
Technically can I keep the BC certificate for as long as I can before applying for passport?

Yes, they do not expire and you don't have to apply for a passport if you don't want to.
Do not laminate your certificate though, it will not be accepted if you do apply for a passport.

Citizenship certificate expires every two years on 1st of April

The certificate does not expire.

It was obvious to me but it might not necessarily be obvious to other people when they have concerns about important issues.

Just to be extra clear, you do not need a passport to prove you are British, your Citizenship Certificate is a more authentic document.
You may wish you apply for a British Passport if you want to travel abroad as a British national, because passport is a travel document. It is not a proof of citizenship but only an indication that you have got British Citizenship.
