Naturalisation post ILR with a gap in between

Hi,
I am eligible for ILR under the 5-year rule this July as I have been on a Tier 2 work permit since July 2010.
Post-ILR I plan to study outside the UK for one year (I will be outside the UK for at least 10 months in that year). I was wondering how this would impact my UK citizenship application post studies. After returning to the UK and spending 12 months in the country on ILR, would I be eligible for naturalisation?
Are there any exceptions to the 450 days in the last 5 years rule?
Is time spent outside the UK while on statutory leave counted in the 450 days total?
Please provide some guidance.
Thanks.

Any time spent outside UK in past five years counts.
So if your time is more than 450 days in past five years and more than 90 days in past 12 months, you will not be eligible.

Also, you need to be physically present in the UK exact 5 years prior to your application date. e.g. you apply on 05-03-2015 then you must be in UK from 01-03-2010 to 15-03-2010 so that you're in UK within the bracket HO receives your application.
