Hi,
I received Tier 1 general visa in May 2010. Got married in April 2011 and my wife came to UK in June 2011 on tier 1 dependant visa.
Me and wife just got ILR on 8th April 2015. My question is as follows:
After completion of 12 months on ILR, can me and my wife apply for British citizenship using MN1 form on 8th April 2016?
If not when can my wife apply for British citizenship (MN1)?
thanks,
Pebble

No.
MN1 forms are for children.
Adults should use
AN.

You wife will only qualify in June 2016 because she needs 5 years residence, which must include 1 year on ILR, if applying at the same time as you.
To benefit from the 3 year residence as spouse of BC, you would need to already have approval and attended your ceremony and be a British citizen.
There is no discount in fees for couples applying together and each applicant needs to meet the requirements individually.

Your answers are very helpful. Just got few more questions:
1) If she applies in June 2015 using AN form, how many absences is she allowed in 5 year period?
2) If i get to become British Citizen in June 2015 and then she applies being a spouse of BC, how many absences she will be allowed in the last 3 years?
thanks,

1. No more than 450 days in 5 years and no more than 90 days in the final 12 months before application.
2. No more than 270 days in 3 years and no more than 90 days in the final 12 months before application.
For both, she needs to have been physically present at the start of the 3/5 years qualifying period on the same corresponding date that HO receives the application in 2016.

1) My wife came in the UK in June 2011, it will be 5 years (which includes one year ILR) in June 2016 for being in the UK, Can she apply for Naturalization on her own?
2) Since I have received Tier 1 general initially on 6th May 2010 and got ILR on 8th April, will i be eligible to apply for naturalization on 6th May 2016?
Or
Should i apply for naturalization in June 2016 for myself and my wife at the same time?

Yes because she is no longer dependent on you once she has ILR. Each person applying for citizenship has to meet the requirements themselves, there is no 'dependent' application.
2) Since I have received Tier 1 general initially on 6th May 2010 and got ILR on 8th April, will i be eligible to apply for naturalization on 6th May 2016? You can apply 12 months after getting ILR or anytime after the 12 month period on ILR. You have to have 5 years residence including 12 months on ILR for citizenship.
Or
Should i apply for naturalization in June 2016 for myself and my wife at the same time? It is your choice when you apply. There is no advantage to applying together as each person has to meet the requirements and complete their own form and pay the fee. There is no 'joint' application discount or advantage anymore.
