Hi

I am a little confused about the requirements for applying for citizenship/passport for my self

I am a 28 year old canadian citizen, born to a british born father who was married to my mother at the time of my birth. My grandfather was a canadian born soldier during ww2, who married my british grandmother after the war and lived in England until my father was 4. I have both my fathers birth certificate, his marriage license to my mother, and my grandmothers birth certificate. I believe I am technically a british citizen by descent, but I have many other European (canadian born as well with German backgrounds) friends who first had to apply for German nationality. Am I able to just apply for a passport? Or do I first have to go through the nationality process? Or am I not even eligible?

Thanks
Matthew

You are automatically British. Just apply for a British passport.
