Registering as ‘Self Employed’ after submitting application

Hi Seniors, need your views on a situation please.
I have submitted my application as per timeline listed in my signatures.
I have always had a job and have given details of my employer on the application form.
I'm now starting a part time work for which I'll have to enrol as 'self-employed' . The question is that would I have to update UKIV with my 'Self-employment' details? I understand one option is to wait till the outcome of the application but cant really count on UKIV being efficient and I cant defer starting the part time work for ~6 months.

Any views please should I be updating UKIV?

No you don't have to.

Just a slight correction, your documents are not with UKBA or UKIV etc, your application is with Home Office. UKBA was scrapped in 2013 and now visa and immigration affair are with Home Office.
