Biometrics exemptions

Hi all
Does anyone know of infants under 1 are exempt from biometrics requirements for British citizenship?

No, they are not exempt. Children under 6 years of age don't do their finger prints but have to have their digital photo taken. Please see page 26 of the

Just to clarify, the photos I sent wouldn't be sufficient?

No, you will need to take the child to have it done at a Post Office. You will receive a letter from HO for this and you need to take the letter with you as it has an applicant specific barcode on it.

Once they send you the letter for biometric, a legal guardian such as father's or mother's name will be mentioned in the letter to be present at the time when the children photograph will be taken at the post office. Please do take the original passport or biometric card of the legal guardian of whose name will be in the letter which is mandatory with the original biometric letter otherwise they would not take the infant's digital photograph.
