Hello, I'm a 17 year old Chinese national who was born in the UK to chinese parents and I've lived in England/Scotland for the entirety of my life. Since my birth we acquired indefinite leave to remain around 2005 and I have completed education in Scotland achieving Highers including English.

Is it possible for my parents who are not british citizens nor planning on becoming british citizens to apply for british citizenship for me under Section 1 (3) in the guide https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... e_2015.pdf ?

Thanks.

Yes, your understanding is correct. You can apply.

You also have two other options.

Because you were born in UK and lived upto the age of 10, you can also apply on Form T.

Once you turn 18, you can also apply for naturalisation on form An.

Mn1 application now would be the cheapest option.

So, you can take your pick. :)
