Any advise or help will be highly appreciated. My story is very long and complicated. I cam to UK in 2001 and claimed asylum on arrival and then I withdraw the application in November 2002 as I got married to be British National. I applied for a ILR on marriage grounds, this application was refused. I appealed and while awaiting for appeal in 2004 the marriage broke down. I decided to movein with friends. Shortly after that I felt unwell and ended up in the hospital, when I was discharged from the hospital I told the hospital that I have nowhere to go and stay. The hospital handed me to a charity that requested the council to assist me with accommodation. The councilI not refugee organisation gave me a flat and weekly living allowance. I was still waiting for appeal in 2007 when I removed myself from UK to go to a European country where again I claimed asylum which was granted. In 2010 after I divorced I married a British National.I came back to UK in 2011 on marriage visa. I was granted ILR in 2013. In November 2014 I applied for citizenship. I had a letter in June advising me that I was in UK from 2002 and removed myself in 2010 , which is not true. I removed myself in 2007. They asked me to explain how I regulised my stay during this period. They also asked me who I stayed with and where I worked, as I could be banned from applying for citizenship again for 10 years as the law was passed last year according to home office. This law was passed I think after I have applied. I replied and told them that I had no fixed abode, but since I returned to UK i have worked and I have had 2 children. I did sent them P60s. Yesterday I recieved a refusal letter but they have stated that I can appeal. I am just wondering if it is worth appealing or its waist of time and money. Has anyone heard or had a similar story in the past. Any advise please. Thank you for taking your time to read.

You cannot appeal a citizenship refusal. You can only ask for a reconsideration which costs about £80 I think and there is no guarantee that you will be approved either.

At least you have ILR status.
As long as you don't absent yourself from UK for 2 years, you should be reasonably stabilised here for now.

In the circumstances, and in the climate being driven by this government on the topic of immigration, perhaps that's as good as it gets.
