We'll apply for naturalization in about a month and wanted to get an opinion about this. I am a Turkish national and due to some treaty between Turkey and the UK, nationals of Turkey can receive child benefit plus several other benefits even though they are subject to the immigration control. Based on this exception I received child benefit while I was on a Tier 2 visa.

Do you think I should I declare this information or should just leave it, trusting the case worker would know this exception or better yet won't even check if I received child benefit.

For Naturalisation, whether you work, dont work, take benefits or not, is not important.

Thanks. The issue is during the stay (on a Tier 2 visa) leading to the naturalization application one normally should not receive benefits else it is a breach of immigration control and would probably lead to the rejection of naturalization application.

In my case I received the child benefit due to an exception. The question is whether I should declare this in detail

The form doesnt ask for those details does it? If not, leave it.
However, the child benefit is not for you, its for your child so it shouldnt be an issue anyway.

Did you get ILR aswell even though you claimed child benefit?
