This is a question on behalf of a friend.
All family have Bulgarian passports, been in UK for last 5 years, recently received Permanent Residence and want to apply for British citizenship for their 2 kids, little one was born in UK so he will doing MN1.
the older one is 17 and half years old holding Bulgarian passport, what will be the route for him? Cheers

Register using form MN1 at Home Secretary's diacretion; register before turning age 18.

They expect at least one parent to naturalise too.

If the minor has settled status (for example has acquired PR) then register using form MN1 at Home Secretary's discretion; register before turning age 18.

(Note you don't 'apply for PR', it is acquired automatically if the person meets the rules; getting a PR card is optional).

For a minor born abroad at least one parent should be naturalising as a citizen too;
adults, who should have settled status (and meet all other requirements) use form AN.

Having read what I suggested should be read, do you / child's parents believe that the minor is eligible for registration?

Children born outside UK

As mentioned before, parents have just received their Permanent Residence Permit a month ago and they are from Bulgaria. Parents have been in the UK for last 5 years before they got PR.

Both vinny and I have tried to tell you that - That in itself does not make a born-abroad child eligible for registration as British citizen!
The application will likely be refused and fee lost.
