Hello All,

I have got a question regarding the registration of child under 18 NOT born in UK.

I currently hold ILR (obtained in August-2015) and my wife will be obtaining her ILR this month (September-2015).

I read about the registration of child under 18 born abroad and need some clarification.

Could anyone please advise whether I need to apply for ILR for my child alongwith my wife's application?
OR
Can I just apply and obtain ILR for my wife and after a year, register my child once my wife and I are naturalized?

My child currently has visa valid until June-2017.

Thanks in advance.

Could anyone please advise whether I need to apply for ILR for my child alongwith my wife's application? Yes, a child born abroad will be expected to have ILR. It is an application to Register at the Secretary of States discretion. There have been a few members on the forum who disregarded advice (and ILR for children born abroad) and applied anyway and were refused and lost the fee.
OR
Can I just apply and obtain ILR for my wife and after a year, register my child once my wife and I are naturalized? No
