What do I apply for?

Hello to everyone on this wonderful platform.
A short re-cap of my journey is as follow:
Got married to my EEA ex-wife: August 1st, 2009
Divorced completed: Jan 2013
Got RC (ROR) : June 2013
Last month - August 1st 2015 marks 6th year since we got married.
I could have applied for PR last year but wasn't sure I had all the documents to do so.
I have been told by a friend that even without getting a PR, I could apply for a British passport/naturalisation (not sure which is appropriate for my case) since it's been 6 years and I have been working all through the time.
Please I need advise on what the next step i should take, the form I need and the documents I need to submit for a successful application for citizenship, if that applies
