I understand that we can travel to India on Indian passport after naturalisation up to 3 months otherwise it will attract a penalty. Is the 3 months validity from the date of naturalisation approval or from the date of Citizenship ceremony. Please clarify as we have a plan to travel to India as can’t make any bookings without this clarity.

Also, what’s the penalty if we breach this 3 months law by mistake.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

This is BC section of the forum so a question about Indian passport regulations may not receive wide coverage here.

Its from the date of Naturalisation, best to get your British passport to avoid confusion at Indian High commission when you surrender your passport or apply for OCI.
