hi, my husband(main applicant Tier 1 general) will apply for his ILR in june 2016. Me and my son's visa will expire with the main applicant. My query is that my son was born in uk and i visited my country and apply entry clearence visa from pakistan to enter UK. As per section 3(1) that a child can go for naturalization as soon as one of the parent is on settlement. When main applicant will apply for ILR do we have to apply ILR for the baby as well or can main applicant will only apply for ILR, as soon as he get ILR he will then directly apply for naturalization for the child.
Kindly resolve my query.

Your son was born in the UK so it will be registration as British citizen under section 1(3) NOT section 3(1).

Your son does NOT need ILR to register as he is UK born and entitled to register for citizenship once either parent obtains ILR.
