Hello all,

Just had a bit of update on my case" Application allocated to caseworker and waiting to be processed". What does this means ? Does it means that it is in Final stage now ?

All the checks etc have been carried and then passed on the caseworker for final decision ?

Please can someone shed some light?

This is where the processing of application and checks start, BEFORE any decision is made. So still early stages really.

Woops i was excited thinking that my application is in final stages  . Also i googled and found the below from Richmond NCS

http://www.richmond.gov.uk/home/service ... s_next.htm

What happens next?

Your application is sent to UK Visas and Immigration via Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery using a Track and Trace facility.
An acknowledgement letter is sent to you by UK Visas and Immigration and you will be given a UK Visas and Immigration Reference Number. Please allow 4-6 weeks for this letter to arrive, especially during busy periods.
A police check is completed on your application.
Your application is allocated to a case worker.
Documents submitted are checked and any further documentation required to support your application is requested.
An internal inquiry begins, and a decision is made.
If the results of the internal inquiry are still outstanding, the application is then transferred to the Central Almanac Team. On conclusion of the internal inquiry a decision is made.
If the decision is to refuse the application, a letter will be sent outlining the reasons for refusal.
Any additional information requested by UK Visas and Immigration, will be returned via 1st class Recorded Delivery
Following the decision to grant you citizenship, a citizenship certificate is generated and sent to your preferred Local Authority.
An invitation letter is sent from UK Visas and Immigration asking you to attend a citizenship ceremony.
You are required to telephone your appointed Local Authority and make an appointment to attend a citizenship ceremony.
At your ceremony you will be presented with your Naturalisation Certificate.
When a ceremony has been attended, UK Visas and Immigration's computer system is updated with a record of the date that the British Citizenship was conferred.

Applications go through a few departments and checks and the time it takes depends on how complex your immigration history is and any other feedback HO get from other departments (HMRC etc).

Yeah! as per the whatdotheyknow link it appears like after all the checks when application is ready for decison, they allocate to case worker. All conflicting information everywhere. Either way its waiting game.

It's annoying also when they say cases are dealt with in date order.... When it's clearly not!

Has anyone tried getting the June statistics or is that information not available until end of November?
