British Passport Interview

Hi everyone,

I’ve applied for a British Passport through the post office check and send.

As it’d be nice to travel around Christmas, is it worthwhile giving the passport office a call to ask if I can book an interview (prior to receiving the letter)?

Has anyone had any experience with this?

Thank you.

You need to wait for the letter. Appointments are available, you won't wait long but also depends where in the UK you are.

The whole process from sending your application through Post office and receiving your passport usually takes 2 - 2½ Weeks as per Current timelines. Interview letter usually comes in under 10 days. Depending on the interview Office you can get next day slots. If all good in the interview you will receive an SMS next day and the passport will be delivered the following day.

Interview is a must requirement for british passport. interview is conducted as an identity check not to check your english level.

From what you have written here , your english is more than enough for the interview, you shouldnt be worried about it. Its just an identity check

Hi everyone,

Had the passport interview this morning. What happens after the interview?

Do we receive any notification via email or text as to what the status is? If so, how long after the interview?

If all went well in the interview you should receive your passport in a few days.
You may receive a text (within a day or 2 after the interview) to advise it's being printed or is on the way.
