MN1 through NCS biometrics returned?

Dear All
We've been to NCS today for MN1 application for our child (15 months old). At the end of the process they returned baby (other nationality) passport and biometric card. Said she just need to send the copies of them. Is this true? Because we have ticked in the application as we are submitting the biometric card along with the application. I am very frustrated.
