Hallo. Im a bit confused on how to apply for my son's citizenship. I got my ILR in April this year so m due for Citizenship next year. My son was born in 2012 when i had 5years leave to Remain as an Asylum seeker. Now my question is since im due to naturalise next year, does my son have to naturalise as well to apply for Citizenship?? Question 2. If he has to Naturalise do I only have to do it for him aftet I pass Life in the UK test or I can do it without??

If you have ILR and your on was born in the UK, you can apply to register him on MN1 under section 1(3) of the nationality act.

You do not have to wait till you naturalise and Life in the UK is irrelevant to children citizenship applications.

Note : Children REGISTER as British. Adults NATURALISE as British.
