I need urgent advice with regards to the period of travel an Indian Citizen can after attending the Naturalisation ceremony.
My wife's Citizenship ceremony is booked for 9th March as the council is not able to provide any other dates prior to this. She needs to travel to INdia on 24th March as the tickets are already booked.
Is there any way that she can travel to India on her INdian Passport and ILR.
The citizenship ceremony letter has been received today which was dated on 10/01/2016. it is only valid for 3 months which expires on 10th APril which will be her date of return from India. I am in a delima please assist.
Thanks,

She cannot travel on Ilr after ceremony. You have to return the BRP within 5 days of ceremony.
She will need to have valid UK passport if she wants to come back to UK.

Travel out to India may be fine on India passport.
Note the BRP has to be returned within 5 days of naturalisation (ie day of oath-taking ceremony) so the return trip (boarding a flight with no visa) may be a challenge (
even if the naturalisation certificate is carried to facilitate entry at UK border).
That is if naturalised on 9 March.
Note A first British Passport will probably take more than 2 weeks as there is no fast-track option.
If departure date is absolutely set in stone then suggest preponing the return date by a few days & reschedule ceremony to naturalise on or just before 9 April.
That would enable travel using India passport & BRP in both directions 'for the last time'.

Can you not book a private ceremony sooner?

i agree with CR001, book private ceremony asap, return brp , then on same day apply Passport check and send service for british passport (2 weeks) + and apply for visa on Indian arrival minimum 3 days before travel date(GBP 40)
If you still got time between getting british passport and travel date. surrender indian passport (1 week max) as technically you wont be indian after ceremony. if you still got time, then start the OCI process and continue OCI next stage after your return.
You got 70 days from today.
