Dear Admins / Moderators / Seniors
This forum has been a great help throughout my ILR application.
I just wanted to seek advice on if there are any upcoming / proposed changes coming in effect in April 2016 that people like myself who'll be applying for naturalisation / citizenship later this year should be mindful about?
Also is this the correct area of the forum to check for any such updates?
Many thanks
Regards,
S.

As mentioned, the price is going up to £1236. No doubt, there will be a new form to reflect the new price increase. Apart from that, its just watch and wait to see what other changes may come about.

I think that the major difference between the immigration pathway (up to and including ILR/PR) and the citizenship process is that changes to the citizenship process can be brought in much quicker and with less notice than the various stages of the immigration process.
It is one of the few processes which are relatively unaffected by European law (either EU law or the ECHR) and where the Home Office has a relative degree of discretion (except in specified areas, such as the residency required 5/3 years beforehand, etc). That is how the Home office changed the definition of "good character" overnight on 11th December 2014, even affecting people who had submitted their applications days or months before that date.
So, keep checking the forums on a regular basis.
