Hello Members,
Can anyone share their experience or give guidance on the subject matter please?
My wife has been outside the country for 463 Days in the last 5 years. Though the guidance suggests that upto 480 days are normally disregarded but has anyone been in this position and what was the result of naturalization application?
Many Thanks,
Ali

Even if someone else was in the same situation and got approved this would not necessarily mean that the same would happen to your wife as all decisions at discretion are well, discretionary and caseworkers look at each case individually when exercising their discretion.
As per the guidance, absences up to 480 days are normally disregarded so it should hopefully be fine. Maybe make a point to demonstrate her ties with the UK and that she has established her home, family etc here.

Hi Lilylalilu,
Thanks for the reply. Yes it makes sense as discretion will depend on the case. I hope establishment of home doesnt mean having purchased a house?
She does have all other support docs such as voter registration, job, salary slips, tax certs, council tax docs etc.
Thanks,
Ali

Have any of the periods of absence been during the 12 months prior to submitting the BC application. If so, how many?
