What does Referee write down

So for the referee declaration can I ask 2 family friends?
One is an optician who has known me for over 20 years and my wife for half that time. The other person is an IT contractor in his 40's.
My only concern is what they write down
Family Friend?
I know both XXXX and XXXX (me) as friends.

Family friend seems to be fine.
I have my appointment next week.
Both my referees are Director of limited company and know me from past 5 years.
Experts please correct me if there would be any issue in this.

Is a director a profession? What is the professional awarding body?

I just wrote down the plain truth i.e., my relationship with how I knew the applicant. It's not very complicated and such things are usually trivial to verify if they really want look into it.
