Firstly thank you for all the wonderful information on this site, it has been quite helpful. Apologies if this question has been posted before, I have not seen it in my browsing.

I am a British citizen by decent – I am Australian by birth
My husband and I have been living in the UK for 6 years, but came back to Australia to have our baby close to my family.
I am on mat leave from my job in the UK and am due to return to work in May
My baby was born in Australia and has an Australian passport and birth certificate
I would like to register my baby as a British Citizen using form MN1 - I believe she qualifies under sec 3(2)

Can I return to the UK with my baby and apply once we get back? My baby would need to enter under her Australian passport. Is there any way to make this work? Am prepared to leave again if necessary?

Yes.

What is the status of your husband?

Thank you!

Husband has indefinite leave to remain, for 10 years from May 2014.

A question on the visa we need to get, we don't currently have an address in the UK as we were renting and are planning to find a place when we come back with our baby, is that ok?

After grant of registration, baby may apply for either British passport or CoE-RoA.
