Thanks so much for all the people, Moderators for so much valuable information. You have been of great help for everyone. Here is my experience with the NCS on 15 march 2016.
Our appointment was at 9.00 am with the Redbridge NCS Ilford. Please note they are doing JCAP (joint passport service with the Naturalisation). We only booked for AN Appointment through the phone, but once we got to the appointment, the Officer told about the pilot scheme and asked us if we would like to take it. We opted for the pilot scheme.
... They have been doing the pilot scheme for 2 weeks and it has been live from this week on the website. We were four of us, My husband, myself and two kids (6yrs and 2yrs). He asked me to give my application first and he went through the application and asked my supporting docs (passport, Biometric card, Degree certificate, Pbs calculator for English language and LIUK)Please note: the Pbs calculator will not be available from 6th april
(He told they are taking out the calculator from the HO site). He photo copied all the docs and gave back my originals and took the LIUK original and gave me a copy of it. And then I filled in the Passport application form, I had to fill in the first page Note: Don't fill your phone number in the first page, You can fill it in the more information column. and NO COUNTER SIGNATURE was required for JCAP applications. The photos given for passports should match the Naturalisation photo.
Next application were for my kids (Both born outside UK) Documents submitted (Birth certificate, Passport and our marriage certificate). Please note we did not get any professional reference for our kids, all four of us had same references. one from my office (manager)and family friend, and another my Husband manager (Limited company director).
I was asked to write a note at the end of the application ("We tried to get professional reference and they have refused to sign the form for my child as a referee"). I asked him if this will delay or create a problem but he assured him that he has send so many applications till date and that was not a problem at all.
.
Lastly was my Husband application, He is director of limited company and permanent employee in bank. the documents asked were passports, BRP, Degree certificate, PBS calculator for English language and LIUK Certificate. Note (No p60s or self assessment were asked) we took all the documents but the Officer told nothing is required as you have filled in the tax reference number in the AN form.
Finally we finished at 12.00 pm.
..and He gave us the receipts of all the passport application and asked us not to travel for another two to three months until you finish your biometrics.
This was our experience, any questions
