Hi All,

Both me and my wife have ILR Visa (Granted on 12/03/2015) and already applied for naturalization for myself on 17/03/2016 (Bio metric Done on 12/04/2016).

I would like to apply British Passport for my baby boy (born on 24/04/2016) and need following clarification:

1. Can I apply for British Passport directly or Do I need to apply for British Passport through Naturalization? A friend of mine said I can apply for British Passport for child as he is born after I received ILR.

2. What documents required for British Passport application for child?

3. Can I apply for OCI Visa after I receive British Passport for my child? If yes, what document required for OCI Application for Child?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

1. Apply passport directly, child is automatically British.

2. Birth cert, your passport & BRP, baby passport IF baby has one. Page 12/13 of the guide has details.

3. Please post OCI questions in the Other Countries sub forum further down on the main immigrationboards page.

The child is automatically British only if born in the UK. If born abroad, you would have to apply for ILE on his behalf.
