Hello All,
I got my ILR last year on 20/04/2015 after 5 years on Tier-2 (General). I have a PhD degree from UK university and have passed Life in the UK test(used for ILR too). I have booked NCS appointment for the application end of this month.
I am attaching the following documents with my AN application:
1. Passport (Current and expired)
2. ILR BRP
3. PhD degree from UK university
4. Life in the UK test pass certificate
Do I need to attach any other documents (employment letter, pay slips, P60 forms, bank statments etc)? I did see the home office website and the list is not clear to me.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Regards

No other documents needed. The AN form and guidance notes is quite clear on what needs to be submitted.

Passports should suffice to prove residency if a non-EEA applicant.
Were you physically present in the UK 5 years (to the day) before your impending date of application?
Don't forget payment slip.
Include a pre-paid, self-addressed secure-delivery type of return envelope if not using NCS. (NCS recommended).

Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I was in the UK for all this time. I came to UK in 2007 to do my PhD and after completion of my degree I am in continuous employment first on Tier-2 (General) visa (Since 2009) and now on ILR (Since 04/2015).
Regards

What noajthan means that, even if your away for two weeks holiday abroad on 30 May as an example, you are not considered 'physically present' on the date of application.
Say your appointment is for 30th May at NCS, this is considered your 'application date'. You must have been present in the UK on the exact same date in 2011, which is the start of your qualifying period.

Ah ok.
I have just checked. I was travelling abroad from 27 April 2011 till 04 May 2011. Next I travelled abroad was in August 2011. Is it ok?
For the last year, I was in UK from my ILR grant date 20/04/2015 till 24/12/2015. I then went abroad for Christmas holidays and came back on 27/01/2016. Then I went to Ireland for 3 days (from 17/02/2016 till 19/02/2016). It is less than 90 days in a year, so I think it should be ok?
Regards

Well it depends on what date your NCS appointment is. I can't guess as you have not said the date.
If you were in the UK on the date in 2011, no problem.
The absence while on ILR is irrelevant if under 90 days.

As long as you were present on 26th May 2011, then you should be fine.
