AN - Naturalisation - English Requirement

Hi,

I know this issue has been discussed a few times and still the confusion continues.

In my scenario, I have applied for naturalisation on 9th June 2016, I was granted ILR after 28 Oct 2013.

As part of my english language requirement, I marked the column that said proved as part of ILR applcation.

I used NCS to submit the application and the lady there raised concern over english language, when I explained that I have proved it as part of ILR, she gave a call to home office, she seemed to have a direct number and knew the person on other end by name.

So this NCS lady queried the HO person regarding the ruling, to which HO person asked for my BRP card number.

HO person checked something on their systems using my BRP card number and confirmed that I have proved my english in my ILR application and it is ok to take my application without a NARIC or b1 test supporting my application.

Now hearing few cases where there have been rejections, I have started to get anxious that can/will my application be rejected on grounds of English requirement despite NCS lady checking with HO before accepting my application.

If HO feels english requirement inadequate, will they give me a chance to do the exam and provide them the result.

How much time do they normally give to provide them the results.

Will it be worth giving the exam now and sending them the result before they have rejected the application

HO will write to you if they need another form of meeting the English language requirement. Many members have been asked to provide alternative proof, even with getting ILR after Oct 2013.
