Quick question for people that have applied via NCS...
Just want to have the piece of mind that will be able to track that the application via NCS has made it to the Home Office.
Does the NCS provide any reference number to track delivery?
Thanks

Yes. It will be written on your confirmation letter which you will get from NCS worker.

There is no need for you to worry about the internal workings of the system.
Your date of application is the date of NCS appointment so if accepted by NCS the application is 'in flight'. (Why would it matter where the package is, in which box or on which shelf, after that).

According the NCS Islington website, the application qualifying period starts when Home Office receives the application. Hence the importance of confirming when the Home Office receives it.
https://myeaccount.islington.gov.uk/mye ... k|referral
I was physically present in the UK (not on holiday / working abroad) at the start of the qualifying period.
My qualifying period will start exactly 5 years (or 3 years if married to a British Citizen) to the day, before my application is received by the Home Office. My application will be received by the Home Office 1-2 working days after my appointment. I have considered this before choosing a date for my appointment
However your comment implies otherwise

Thoughts?

If you read the AN form and guidance notes, it CLEARLY states that the date of application is the date of the NCS appointment. Date of receipt by HO is only relevant to postal applications, i.e. not using NCS.
NCS appointment as date of application is a recent change.

It appears that NCS Islington have omitted to update their website.

NCS is only an agency and any such website does not necessarily represent current guidance on this vital matter (let alone the law).

I used NCS for my family's application and got no such letter or tracking #. As explained above, I didn't worry about it either.

Great, thanks for clarifying. I realize now that the AN guide indicates this as you mentioned:
The date of application will be the date your form is received by the Home Office, Nationality Checking Service or the local British government representative as shown above. It is not the date on which you send it.

I had tracking number on my NCS receipt. There is paragraph where NCS worker will write your tracking number. Don't worry.

This. I was also provided one.
Even if at NCS appointment you are not given a tracking number, you can always request one.
