British Citizenship - when to apply

Hi, I'm an EAA national been living in England for 6+ years. I applied to ILR in April 2016, still waiting for my approval. I would need a bit of clarification as been told different things on when can I apply for British Citizenship. I've read that I need to wait 1 year after being granted ILR, some says I can apply straight away as I already have the 6 years... Can you please help, which one is true?
Also, if I need to wait 1 year, is it a year from when I have handed in my application (April), or a year from when I got my approval (sometimes this autumn I hope)?

Have you really applied for ILR?
Or do you think you have acquired PR and have applied for DCPR?
Are you married to a British spouse? If so, no need to wait 12 months free of
immigration time restrictions.
If no BC spouse, then, yes, wait 12 months free of immigration time restrictions.
I.e. after achieving the holy grail of settled status (PR). Not 12 months of holding DCPR.

Sorry, I meant PR. So the earliest I can apply is next year autumn?

No, I'm not married. Thanks for the info. There is another question... I was offered a job in Singapore from next spring for 1.5 years. After achieving PR, can I stay away for that long period and apply for BC as soon as I am back?

No, you will fail under naturalisation absence requirements.
Check them out.
And PR times out after 2 years so don't get carried away in Singapore.

BRP application before Citizenship application?

Hi, I've been informed by the NCS, that I can do my BRP before I have my appointment with them for the British citizenship application. But the post office website says, I can only apply for BRP with the document and barcode the home office sends after I sent my citizenship application... Time is crucial for me as I've been offered a 6 months contract abroad, so after I send my citizenship application, a won't be in the country for 6 months. Does anyone know if I could get my BRP before? I'm an EEA national. Many thanks.

Your terminology is incorrect. BRP = Biometric Residence Permit. What you are referring to is Biometric Enrollment, which is done at the Post Office and no, you cannot do it before your NCS appointment and you will have to wait for HO to send you the barcoded letter. Your nationality is irrelevant, the rules are the same for everyone.
