I have passed my Life in UK test at the end of May 2016, and intend apply for naturalisation this September, so there will be a gap of about 4 months between me passing the test and the application date. Is this ok? Is there any time limit relating to this?

Your LITUK Test result has no expiry date, so you will be fine.
