Hi all,

The AN Guide has been updated today and it appears having Permanent Residence for a period of 12 months before applying for Citizenship is no longer a requirement.

Can anyone confirm that is the case?

Link to the list of updated documents:

Kind regards

Section 5 of the AN Guide (as posted in your link):
You should apply for a permanent residence card to prove
that you hold that status before applying for citizenship.

Unless married to a British Citizen:
You must be free of immigration time restrictions on the date of application,
and have been free of immigration time restrictions for the twelve month period
before making the application
(see the section on ‘Immigration Time
Restrictions

You need to hold PR for 12 months from the date you acquired PR....not from the date the PR confirmation was issued (if this is later). If you're unsure of when PR was automatically acquired, apply for a SAR which will give confirm the relevant date.
