Joint Citizenship and Passport Application Service Query

Hi guys,

Thanks in advance for you help.

I am a bit confused about how the NCS service exactly works when it comes to applying for both citizenship and application when going to a register office that does provide this service of course. To be more precise my query is about the passport application.

When I am checking my local council's ncs website (https://www.sutton.gov.uk/info/200469/s ... ionality/3), it says that I should complete the passport application form. My questions are the following:

1) Do I have to complete the application at the NCS office or do I need to do it beforehand and bring the completed passport application form to the ncs office?

2)On the website is says that when applying for both a passport and citizenship, the 2 extra photos for the passport should not be certified. Does it mean that on the back side of these 2 photos absolutely nothing needs to be written?

Thanks again

Is this for yourself or for the child in your other topic?

1. All forms must be completed before your NCS appointment.

Hi Cr001,

This application will be for myself.

So if somebody wants to do the joint citizenship and passport application, does somebody need to follow the goverment's page in order to apply for a passport? (https://www.gov.uk/apply-renew-passport) Or would I need to pick up an application form from the post office?

Thanks again

You need to pick up a form from the Post Office and complete it.

Hi there,

OK then, makes sense. But I am confused about the following:

1) The 2 photos will not have anything written on the back?
2) If I take the form from the post office, how exactly will I pay for the passports? Because on the attachment of the fees, I guess I will write down to be charged £1236, which is amount for naturalization only.

Thanks again.

The envelope with the passport form form the Post Office has a guidance booklet in too, at the back is the passport payment page.

Not sure about photos, but your name should probably be written on them.
