Changing surname after Naturlisation

Hi,

My wife will be applying for naturalisation soon, her Thai passport and BRP is in her Maiden name and after reading up on the topic I've decided it will be easier to apply for naturalisation in her Maiden name.

My question is how easy is it to change her surname to mine AFTER naturalisation and preferably before applying for a UK passport?

thanks for your help.

This topic will be insightful. Best to do British passport first to avoid delays/complications.

Have a look at this post too...
How is this link relevant to the OPs question?

Thank you for the replies.

So if I've understood correctly it would be best to do citizenship under her maiden name, apply for UK passport under her maiden name and then change her name?

Would you happen to know if the change of name on the UK passport would have to be done by deed poll? Or would a marriage certificate be sufficient?

Thanks again!
