hello this is my first post on here.
I m trying to correct an error with my fathers passport. in Kenya 1963 he applied for British passport this was given to all non Kenyan residents, he came to the UK and in 1974 applied for a British passport which he got. so when my brother and i were born in the we both also were given British passports. Then my fathers passport expired he went to reapply for a British passport again, unfortunately our house was burgled so he lost his naturalisation certificate and all his document so then, he was given a British overseas Citizen passport.
i would really appreciate if some one can point me in the right direction so i can correct this error
thanks for looking

Suggest try contacting UK govt archives for official copy of certificate.

Are you sure it was a 'naturalisation certificate'? He couldn't have got that as a CUKC, and I think he would have acquired the right of abode as a result of settling in the UK and being present for 5 years -
Immigration Act 1971 Section 2(1)(c) wrote:(1)A person is under this Act to have the right of abode in the United Kingdom if—
...
(c) he is a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies who has at any time been settled in the United Kingdom and Islands and had at that time (and while such a citizen) been ordinarily resident there for the last five years or more ; or
When were you and your brother born? If you were born in the UK before 1983, you would automatically have become British citizens when the concept came into being in 1983, regardless of the status of your father.
I fear you may need to look for a landing card.
