Speeding Points During Citizenship Application

I have already applied for British citizenship as I hold an ILR but I have just received a letter from police for over speeding. I have attended a course previously and it looks this time I will get 3 points straight away without an option for a course. Will this potential 3 points and fine be termed as a bad character and subsequently will result in the refusal of my application? Will I have to inform home office about this whilst my application is still under processing? Please any advice will be appreciated. :(
