Hi members,

My child is born in the UK when both myself and my husband were on Tier1. Both of us got our ILRs last year as well. Because we had a plan to go to India, we took him to India on his Indian passport and applied for his ILR. He got his ILR and we are now planning to apply for his naturalisation.

I have been through the whole of MN1 guide but can't find anything which would stop us from applying for his naturalisation but just wanted to double check if my child is still eligible to apply for his naturalisation given his present ILR status.

So just to summarise:

- Child born in the UK
- Child on ILR
- Both parents on ILR

Please let me know. Thanks in advance !

Cheers,
J

Yes, you can apply to REGISTER the child as British. A UK born child has an entitlement to register, regardless of immigration status of the child.

Only adults are Naturalised.
