British Passport - Victoria office - security scan

Hi there,

Could anyone advise, please?
I booked my interview appointment reference British Passport and I received email confirmation where it states that:
You'll need to pass through a security gate and have your belongings x-rayed when you arrive.
I'm almost 9 months pregnant and don't want my baby to be scanned. I did not fly anywhere during my pregnancy to avoid airport scans and protect my baby.
I called Victoria office and they said that I won't be scanned, only my belongings but I'm just wondering how I'm going to pass through their entrance if there are security gates??
I don't want to be in the situation that I'm there at the entrance, made the whole journey and they ask me to go through their gates and scan me.
What do you advise? Should I maybe cancel this appointment and wait until my baby is born?
Thanks for advice.

Belongings go through the x ray, people just go through the metal detector, no harm to baby.

No worries, neither airport scans nor the scans they use at the PP office will bring any risk to your baby. I have been flying very often during my pregnancy and have been through lots of scanners, it's completely fine. It's not like you're getting an x-ray :)
