Providing addresses for past 5 years (Form T)

I'm currently filling in Form T-registration as a British citizen

In section 2.2 it asks for addresses for the last 5 years
My problem is for 2 of those years I was at no fixed address, I was homeless

Has anyone else been in a similar situation and does anyone have any advice for me

My background: I was born in the uk and lived here my entire life I am now 28 years old
My parents were never married and separated when I was 11 years old
My father was born in Vietnam but became British citizen after I was born
My mother was born in France and she lives in the UK
Both my parents lived in the UK before I was born but neither were UK citizens

I thought I was was a citizen of the U.K. It's only recently since looking to apply for a passport that I found out I was not.

Any help would be great
Thanks

Suggest include a brief cover letter to explain the situation, (where you actually lived or stayed).
Good luck.
