UK born child registration - query

Hi Members and gurus,
Recently I got ILR through Tier 2 five year route. I am planning to register my son (born in UK ) as BC. It has been suggested in few questions that I need to send my original BRP for processing. There is no NCS facility in Northern Ireland. I may need original BRP for employment purposes during the processing time.
Will Home office return the originals after checking like they are doing for extension application before issuing certificate ?
Can you please advise ?

Thanks

HO hold onto your documents until just before or after approval.

You could probably submit certified copies but HO can ask you to send originals.

Can you not travel to your nearest centre in England or Wales to submit?

Hi CR001, thanks for your quick reply. I will check the nearest NCS for submission. Good idea.

Hi CR001, can you please look at one more question ?
My son is having Tier 2 dependent visa valid until February 2018. I don't have travel plans back home. Can I hold his BC registration application for couple of months ? Is there any rules to apply either IlR or BC registration since I got ILR ?
Thanks

His visa remains valid. You can apply for BC at any point for UK born children.

Bear in mind that the fees will increase again March/April 2017, so maybe best to plan submission before that.
