Change of name after receiving approval but before ceremony

Hi,

Today I got my Naturalisation approval letter from the Home Office :)
I have got my ceremony date as 14th of Dec which is 2 months away and I have not applied for the passport yet.

I would want to know your opinions, thoughts and suggestions about changing surname now through deed poll and present it during ceremony rather than changing it after getting the certificate. Is this a possibility or are there better options?

Thanks.

The certificate will be in the same name you applied for citizenship. At the ceremony, the certificates are already printed and the council receive them like that from HO, you cannot change the certificate on the day.

Ahh, Crap. Thanks for that CR001. I guess, I will have to apply after the ceremony and obtain a new certificate? That sounds wasteful. Since I have 2 months for the ceremony, is there any remote possibility that I notify HO and get the certificate in my new name?

You will only be issued one certificate.

Also as CR001 has already advised, the HO will only issue the certificate in the name given in your application.
