British passport when documents has been lost by home office

I recently got my naturalisation after I raised complaint with home office. After investigation they told me that hey have lost my file which included my original passport and all other relevant document. I ahve 2 queries :
- What document should I sent to IPS to get passport as they need foreign passport ?( I ahve an email from home office confirming that they have lost my file)
- What sort of compensation can I seek from home office for losing all my document ?
