Resident Permit for Children about to expire

Hi,

We have lived in UK for past 9 and half years. 5years T2 and last 4 & 1/2 years ILR. ILR for self and wife is valid till May 2022 but for kids (age 12 and 15) its valid only till May 2017. We have applied for Citizenship on 21st Nov using NCS services (Yeah, we know we should have applied it earlier). I see from the timelines that it takes about 3 to 3 and half months on an average for approval to come. Is there any implications of any delays in approval beyond May 2017 on legal status of kids in UK? Is there anything which can be done to be on the safe side considering kids RP is expiring on 1st May 2017.

Thanks for the support.

What's actually expiring?

ILR does not expire (if holder is in UK). A BRP card may expire if its 10 years old but the ILR status does not.

Expiry date on BRP Card for the children is 01 May 2017.

Is it a visa or an ILR BRP :!:

As stated above, ILR does not expire, hence indefinite. You just have to renew the card.

Thanks. It is ILR BPR Card.

So i need to look for renewing BPR card for kids if citizenship approval delays beyond 01 May 2017. Right?

Any idea how to go about it and how much time it takes?
