1st Referee in Naturalisation form

I’ve a question. Can I use one of my friend as a 1st Referee where his occupation is Software Architect
You need one referee over the age of 25 and a British citizen. You need another referee of any nationality who is a professional, as listed on the HO approved list. I don't believe 'Software Architect' is on the list of approved professional referees.

It makes no difference who is 1st ref or 2nd ref.
