Dear members,

My husband got ILR (long residency) on 5 Jan 2016, he is due to apply nationality on 5th Jan 2017. However we are going to holidays from 29th Dec 2016 to 25th Feb 2017. He will apply his nationality after he comes back. My question is how his absences will count? means he will have first year of ILR only 6 days absence, or will they count 58 days? how many he is entitle to take ? please advice thanks

The absence in the last 12 months immediately prior to application dates must not be more than 90 days. So yes, his absence will be counted in that calculation.

The start of the 3 or 5 years qualifying period is calculated backwards, from the date the Home Office or NCS receives the naturalisation application.
