Hi All,

I am in the process of applying for British Citizenship (5 yrs T1G + 1 year ILR).

My wife (who has ILR) will be applying for citizenship once I become British Citzen (so that she can use 3 years rule).

My child is still on T1 General. I am planning to apply for his ILR next week.

Question: Can he apply for British Citizenship along with my wife. i.e. Does he need to wait for 1 year on ILR to be eligible for BC application or can apply straightaway?

He can apply when your wife applies, which will only be in a few months anyway.

There is no requirement for minors to wait 12 months after ILR.

As long as he has ILR, he can apply for citizenship alongside your wife.
