A year of absence

Hello everyone,

I have a year of absence in my 5 years residency. I am a wife of BC, and I got the ILR based on domestic violence. The reason for my absence are the one-year studies in Republic Ireland. When granting my ILR, they didn't ask me for the absence.

I would like to apply for naturalisation based on the discretion since the marriage was abusive and I was on a run from my husband. Does anyone have any experience?

450 days absence permitted if making a 6(1) application.

I have about 600 days. I wonder if I can apply based on the discretion?

A "year" is only 365-366 days.

If you read the linked guide you will see you will be assessed over a longer time period - that is the discretion.
For up to 730 days absence, residence of up to 7 years expected.

How long have you been in UK?
