English test? naturalised Canadian

My DCPR application is currently being processed and I plan to apply for British naturalisation in October.

Meanwhile, I registered to take the Life in the UK test in February, and was about to register to take an English language test - but then I discovered that Canadian citizens are exempt from taking the language test. I'm a dual citizen of an EU2 country (by birth) and Canada (naturalised). Do I need to take the English language test? I hope not.

Thank you.

If you are a Canadian citizen you do not need to take a language test. Just provide them with proof of your Canadian citizenship, I believe the guidelines say they need a passport copy or something.

It doesn't matter that your naturalisation application isn't based on your Canadian citizenship.
